Fanny Brice's day of birth

Fanny Brice (stage name of Fania Borach) is hot on Google since One Night with Fanny Brice, a one-woman show about Brice, premiered in New Jersey. Her hour of birth is unknown, but how about the artist in the positions of the day of her birth (October 29, 1891 in New York City)? The pattern of artistic talent contains aspects between Moon, Venus and Neptune added with Taurus, Pisces, Libra and Cancer and completed with Midheaven (Midheaven requires an hour of birth). The pattern is clearly there in the chart of the day of birth of Fanny Brice.
We see a Libra Moon, possibly semi square Venus and Venus 157.5 (sesquisquare + half semi square) Neptune. Fifty percent of her positions are in water signs (empathy, emotions). And Mercury is inconjunct Neptune. That is for 'telling tales' (great tool for actors).

Day of birth of Gavin Friday

For a long time I haven't listened to my CD's. Now that I synchronised my Ipod I rediscovered Gavin Friday and I started looking for the date of birth to see the pattern of artistic talent (for I am sure that he hás it:)! I enjoy the sound of 'Angel' while I am writing this.


First thing that you see watching this chart is: the Sun has no major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. That is a 'calling' Sun and that is the signature of performance, being a leader or a star, drawing attention. And the pattern?

Moon is trine Venus and both are sextile Neptune (a small trine).

There is no hour of birth, so there is no information about the Ascendant, angular positions or the midpoints Sun/Moon and AC/MC. And no info about the aspects with Midheaven...But the basic pattern is apparently there. Here is the chart of the day of birth:

It has been a long time. Time for another example of the pattern of artistic talents in a natal chart. All charts here have such a pattern. It is about the complete combination of Moon, Venus, Neptune and Midheaven and additional related signs like Cancer, Libra, Taurus and Pisces. Here is the chart. It is the one of Jorge Luis Borges.

The artist in the chart of Phil Collins

Let us have a look at the B-rated (so: time a bit unsure) ADB-chart for Phil Collins and wonder what in the chart shows his talents and where in the chart the lost of sense in his fingers and hands are (this happened to him starting in 2007). 

He has a Sun shining brightly without major aspects with planets or lights (but trine Quaoar, the symbol of shaping new realities). That is for drawing attention

 (the prominent Sun is the symbol of the star). 

We see Moon trine Venus out of sign and Venus 127 d Neptune and also 127d Uranus. Venus is in opposition with the midpoint of Uranus and Neptune. Venus-Neptune is the combination for high sensitivity and art. Venus-Uranus is the combo for rhythm. Singers and pop musicians often have a Venus-Uranus and/or Venus-Neptune connection in the chart.

I almost forgot to mention that Venus is ' calling'  (no major aspects in sing!) and that the Moon is rising before the Sun, right after Neptune. That makes the artistic trio prominent. When Venus is calling, you can't resist the call for style, entertainment, fun, pleasure and beauty or...being artistic. Also, this B-rated chart has a Midheaven that is connecting Neptune (quintile) and Moon (square) and there is a quatronovile (160d) aspect with Venus.  There is the trio again! So far for the artist in the chart. 

In 2007, during the last Genesis tour,  it became clear that there was a medical problem, a dislocated vertebra in the neck. Operations followed. What indications are there in the chart? 

I see Progressed Midheaven inconjunct Mars (for loss of muscle/energy or having to give up working). Progressed Ascendant is inconjunct Venus, Progressed Venus square Midheaven, Transit Neptune sextile progressed Mars.  Except for the last mentioned transit the indications are only valid for an AA-rated chart. There is one big indication for a sudden change: progressed Sun is square Uranus.  And if the B-rated chart is correct, this sudden change went along with a difficult inconjunction of Mars. Mars happens to be important for someone who is hitting drums. That is because Mars is the symbol of striking, hitting and using tools.

Sean Connery's birth chart

Sean Connery’s birth day is August 25. His chart is the chart of a cool and strong guy, a ' die hard'. Maybe it is not 'him' but his alter ego James Bond sure is! 

He was born on a day that Pluto was rising before the Sun conjunct Neptune. Pluto is the symbol of power, influence, force and strategy (or politics). Neptune is the symbol of fantasies, ideals, dreams and all other ' unreal' things in life, like movies. With Sun conjunct Neptune you tend to live a life connected to ideals, dreams or myths (or you are just a romantic dreamer:). Neptune is also the symbol of idols and heroes, especially when Neptune is connected to Jupiter: than there is a chance of having a devoted audience (fans, for example). His Jupiter is septile (51.4d) Neptune and Jupiter/Neptune is semi square Moon. Also watch the angular Saturn and Capricorn Ascendant for the cool guy. It seems that women like ' cool' and strong/couragious (Pluto) guys.  I like the  Sun/Moon conjunct Quaoar and the AC/MC square Quaoar: the most individual degrees of the chart show us that he was motivated by the crucial importance of creating new ‘ realities’ (very James Bond) or...that he recreated his complete personality. Connery IS Bond and all Bonds remind us of Connery. His first James Bond was Dr. No. The release date was Oktober 5, 1962.

Here is his chart (Astrodatabank’s data source is a quoted BC). The Midheaven is wide sextile Moon and semi sextile Venus and Venus is semi square Neptune. Venus/Neptune=Moon. And that is the pattern of artistic talent in this chart. However, there is another minor aspect with Midheaven: Neptune 75 MC. And that completes the Moon, Venus, Neptune and MC – combination of working with your (artistic) talents.

Conductor George Pretre

George Pretre is a famous and inspiring conductor. Born in 1924 and he conducted the Vienna New Year’s Concert of 2010, standing all the time.

He married in 1950 and has 2 children. He is Grand Officer of the Legion d’Honneur. And that is not the only reward or prize.

On the day of his birth Jupiter, Mars and Saturn were unaspected (no Ptolemaic aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees). They were ‘ calling’.  Calling Mars: the workaholic, the man with the drive…Calling Jupiter: the international, the traveler…Calling Saturn: the manager, the classical (ambition). But he is first of all an artist, a sensitive man (Neptune rising before and conjunct the Sun).

 There is no hour of birth for this conductor and that is limiting the reading of his chart. Just this: Mars is quintile Pholus. I think that that is astrological for a creative way to direct the next twist or turn by means of a stickJ, a creative turning point in a an artistic work (Mars Pisces).

Leonardo di Caprio: first of all a producer?

Leonardo di Caprio said that he wasn’t a sweet little boy, but a fighter. We can see that. Mars in Scorpio is rising before his Sun! That is a statement for someone who is first of all an activist, entrepeneur, soldier,  fighter or ...productive (a producer).

Charts of Paul McCartney and John Lennon

Paul and John cooperated with George and Ringo and they were the major stars of the most famous group in the world: The Beatles. Both have an important Sun (symbol of the star) and perhaps that worked as having two captains on a ship.
What John and Paul share is an aspect between Moon and Venus and that is not unusual in the charts of artists as you can see on this blog Art&Astrology. In the composite chart (the combination of the two charts) Moon is trine Venus and semi square Neptune (opposition MC). Together they performed as artists.

The astrological pattern of artistic talents seems to be incomplete for the natal charts with the given data, but that is only at first sight and when you don’t use minor aspects.

His Moon in Aquarius, quite alone in the 10th house and opposition Pluto is maybe enough to demonstrate his influence on the public that was ready for something new.

John’s ‘ calling’ Sun on the Descendant is an indication for the leading role that he should have in the group and perhaps that is the reason why he started his own individual career later. Mars (ruler 1) is the planet of orientation, so that once upon a time in his life he needed to be an activist and ‘ do it on his own’. John Lennon was a Libra, too, so he needed a partner when he did that (and that was Yoko).

Paul’s Quaoar on the Ascendant and square Midheaven and Sun is another symbol of ‘ creating/shaping a new reality’. The astrological pattern of artistic talent consists of:

Astrology chart of Queen Latifah

Queen Latifah is a rapper and an actress (also in commercials). That is not all. She has her own perfume line, she is a film producer and she was asked to recite a poem written by Mary Angelou at the memorial service for Michael Jackson. She has already written her autobio in 1999 (with P Sun-Pluto, an appropriate progression for digging up your past) and does kick boxing for fun. The surgery (breast reduction) that she underwent in early 2003 was in a period of changing life style.

Her nickname is very much in line with the positions of Sun and Moon. Latifah means ‘ delicate’ and isn’t Pisces one of the most delicate sun signs? Leo is the ‘ royal’ sign and that is where her Moon is.

The indications for a career in entertainment and styling are:

- Neptune without aspect in sign; a ‘ calling ‘ Neptune refers to fantasy, romance, ideals or beliefs and art at any possible level.
- Neptune is rising before the Sun and Mercury (so Neptune is the first rising outer planet); that is indicating an orientation on the non-material field (art, religion, ideals)
- Neptune conjunct Sun/Moon and semi square Jupiter/Pluto for being motivated by success as an artist (or an idealistic view) – and this somehow, anyhow

NEPTUNE is the most important planet in the chart. Neptune is the planet of orientation, the planet of vocation and the planet of motivation in this chart! Unfortunately, Neptune is also the planet of drugs. Queen Latifah was addicted to drugs in the 90s.
Other observations related to her professional career:

- Venus and Mars in each other’s sign (mutual reception) at the end of the vocational routing (Capricorn MC, Saturn in Taurus, Venus in Aries and Mars in Taurus) for passion

There is no direct connection between Moon, Venus, Neptune and Midheaven, but there is Venus opposition Uranus for sense of rhythm. This Venus-Uranus combination is frequent in the charts of dancers and singers and poets.

There are a number of dramas in her life, like the death of a brother on a motorcycle that she had given him or the carjacking that involved the death of a friend. She was arrested in 1996, with transit Saturn (symbol of restrictions) conjunct the natal Sun. Mars conjunct Saturn and this conjunction inconjunct Uranus mirror possible accidents, incidents, restricted freedom (and the short fuse). Kick boxing (hitting hard) fits with Mars-Saturn, too. With this combination it is always possible to get the short fuse under control. (Einstein has the Mars-Saturn-Uranus combination too and he mentions how he learned to control his temperament.)

PS I like the positions of Chariklo (just before the Sun) and Lilith (square Ascendant) as representatives of the strong woman that she is according to the title of her autobiography: “Ladies First, revelations of a strong woman”.

Now that Museum Boymans van Beuningen in Rotterdam Netherlands will be exposing paintings of Han van Meegeren, famous for his false ‘ Vermeer’ paintings, it is a good moment to have a look at his chart.
The chart of Han van Meegeren is the chart of a master copier or should we say: someone who was very good at copying another person’s style. Venus, making no major aspects, reflects the talents in the chart. That is pointing at capabilities and talents at any possible level. Venus and Mars (together the combination of passion) are rising before the Sun. He had a passion for a style that was the ridiculised by his critics. He took revenge by fooling them with a ' Vermeer' . That is how the fraud started. But he had talent...

This painting was famous, too, It was a Van Meegeren and almost every house in Holland use to have a copy of it on the wall, in the fifties of the past century. He was very popular (Moon trine Jupiter), in spite of the fraud.

Mercury in Libra is semi square Venus and biquintile Neptune and Pluto. That illustrates communication talents and a creative way to be discrete. He knew how to sell things and he knew how to lie. For years he lived in luxury, selling ‘ discovered’ paintings of Vermeer (for millions). His art was as good as Vermeer’s art was, but his name was different. He had to pay for the fraud and spent some time in jail (Sun afflicted by Saturn and Uranus, the combination of restricted freedom).

The chart of HAN VAN MEEGEREN has the same sort of combinations as most artist’s charts have. With Sun in Libra, Moon in Taurus and the Libra Ascendant the signs of beauty, entertainment and style were occupied. Moon was sesquisquare Venus; and Venus was semi square Midheaven. Neptune is sextile Midheaven. The pattern of artistic talents is there, but there is no direct connection between Venus and Neptune. The midpoint Venus/Neptune is in hard aspect with the Ascendant.

Sherlock Holmes the movie (charts of main characters)

André Rieu is a hit!

André Rieu is number 2 in Britain, with Forever Vienna (see the news on BBC). His progressed Sun is semi square Jupiter in this successful period in his life. I have written about him before, here on Art&Astrology (click to see the post there) with the chart of the positions on his day of birth (time unknown). Saturn is rising before the Sun (for classical first:).

Smaller objects 'go first', however. Quaoar is the first little object to rise before the Sun. Quaoar is the symbol of creating new worlds and realities. Very helpful in the chart of a man who is creating a new classical world on stage and who revives the waltz.

There hadn't been a chart of a rapper on this blog before, so here it is. You see the chart, progressions and transits of Lil Wayne.
