George W. Bush, the painter

The Huffington Post has a few messages about George W. Bush painting and now that I know about this, I want to know: does he have the same pattern of artistic talent as others on this blog have?
See the chart:
He has:

Moon in Libra
Moon wide sextile Venus
Venus semi square Neptune
Venus trine MC

So, the answer is: yes, he does. (Sorry, political enemies and critics!:)

He could have chosen for an artistic career when he was young. The 'calling' Saturn (no aspects, square Midheaven) points at the importance (to him) of ambition, the father and status, classical education stood in the way. I don't know if it is too lae (is it ever:) but Saturn also refers to old age, patience and time passing bye.

PS, a bit not on topic:
when he retired the progressed Midheaven inconjunct Pholus (link to my site Astromarkt) reflected a turning point in life with a loss involved. Pholus is in his 6th house of daily pattern. Maybe now he found a way to deal with that lost pattern.

Here is a blog with some of the pictures (brought into the world by a hacker) and comments about yes/no talent: http://www.vulture.com/2013/02/jerry-saltz-george-w-bush-is-a-good-painter.html

Chart of Charles Dickens, born 200 years ago

Charles Dickens was born 200 years ago this year. That is a good enough reason to celebrate with a post on Art&Astrology!:). I have written about Charles Dickens before, referring to his talent, his relationships with women and to the reason why we love his stories, even today, even if his pages don't fit in a tweet.

Here is something more about his chart on my sites:

1. We like the happy ends in the stories of Charles Dickens. The positive thinking of the author is reflected by Moon in Sagittarius (looking at the bright side of life) and the importance of the elevated Jupiter. Jupiter is the astrological symbol of being positive:
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/12/charles-dickens-positive-jupiter-and.html

2. Charles Dickens had Moon and Neptune square Venus in Pisces and a Mars-Uranus affliction. That is enough for complicated relationships with the opposite sex…Read about Charles and the women in his life on Astropost:
http://astropost.blogspot.nl/2009/01/charles-dickens-and-women.html

3. I mentioned him on Art&Astrology iin 2009:
http://art-astrology.blogspot.nl/2009/01/astrology-chart-charles-dickens.html

Charles Dickens had Moon and Neptune square Venus in Pisces. All three had a prominent position on the angles. He had the complete pattern of professional artistic talent in his natal chart.

Astropost: Venus-Saturn and Stepford Wives

In Astropost: Venus-Saturn and Stepford Wives something about the book written by Ira Levin and the Venus-Saturn symbolism of the perfect woman.

Chart and talent of Placido Domingo

Placido Domingo is a Spanish tenor and director with a very typical voice. Performers in the arts need artistic talents just as the creators of art do. In this case, there is a different astrological pattern than usual. Usually Moon, Venus and Neptune are connected with Midheaven and each other, supported by the signs that they rule (Cancer, Libra, Taurus and Pisces). In the chart of Placido Domingo we see:

a. a prominent Neptune (Neptune is 'calling', no mayor aspect in orb 5 degrees or in sign; and square Sun/Moon. It means that he was motivated for the arts, very much, at any kind of level, somehow, anyhow)

b. the moon stands right in the middle of Venus and Neptune. In other words: Venus/Neptune is conjunct the Moon.

c. There are minor aspects between Moon and Venus and Neptune. They are connected by septiles (1/7th of the circle). Moon/Venus is in aspect with Ascendant and Midheaven.
The septile is considered to mirror the energy that inspires us and others.

His chart doesn't immediately show the singer, unless you use this:

Mercury (communications, voice and pen) ruler of the Midheaven is in the 5th house of plays, games and shows, exactly square ruler 5 (plays) = Saturn (business).

Then you see the business of singing for entertainment.

But what must I do with that Mars on the IC? It may be an AA rated chart but I wonder ... Well, the story of his HOB is on Astrodienst: http://www.astro.com/astro-databank/Domingo,_Plácido

Michael Hutchence's artistic pattern

In Astropost: Midpoint combinations: 3 in 1 the chart of the final days of Michael Hutchence, singer of INXS has been used as an example. Important for his career: Mercury. Mercury has a special position in his natal chart. There are no trines, sextiles, squares, conjunctions or oppositions in sign or orb 5 degrees with Mercury. Mercury sits on the Ascendant.

That is a double prominence for Mercury, the planet of the birds, the writers, the singers and the messengers. Here is the chart with transits and progressions for the day of his death. The pattern of artistic talent is in Venus septile the elevated Moon, semi square Neptune and half sesquisquare (67.5d) Midheaven.
