Chart of Doris Day

Doris Day was very popular. You can see that in her chart for April 3, 1922. The tightest major aspects are:

Sun opposition Jupiter
Sun trine Neptune (almost exact!)
Jupiter sextile Neptune

That is the combination of the devoted audience.  She was worshipped by her fans! But where is the actrice in the chart?

We see that the Moon is in tight aspect with Venus (sextile) and Neptune (semi square) and with Midheaven (conjunction). That is a complete pattern of talent. With Venus inconjunct Ascendant style, sympathy or beauty came her way. The Sun quintile Midheaven made her creative in drawing attention. And Mercury, opposition Ascendant and square Midheaven tells us that communications are of importance. And how about that elevated Moon in Gemini, square Ascendant, keeping her 'forever young' in the eyes of the public?

She was a singer and an actrice but she was also an activist for animal rights. And that is very Sun trine Neptune! See Astropost about Sun trine Neptune, dogs, rescues and Presley, for example.
BTW
Doris Day married a couple of times. Venus in Aries semi square Uranus and quintile Pluto tell us about exciting loves at first sight and impulsive relationships.

Christina Alguilera and her talent

See Astropost: Transit Neptune conjunct Ascendant (like Christina Alguilera) about Christina Alguilera's pattern of artistic talent (Moon-Venus-Neptune, the golden yod and more).

Birthday of Perez Hilton

With Mercury and Venus trine Neptune Perez Hilton makes an art of communications. It is his birthday today and here is the post about his chart. The chart is without hour of birth, but with a ' calling' Sun and Uranus. Mind if I name this composition 'a starry newsmaker'? With transit Uranus soon conjunct his natal Sun we might expect some news about him this year.

There are more people drawing attention, being a star or leader. Charlie Sheen for example, and Hillary Clinton. Just follow the label 'calling planet'...in:

Chart of Stephen King and his new book

Stephen King is writing a novel about the murder of John F. Kennedy. Title: 11/22/63. Release: November 2011.

Stephen King's natal A-rated chart is here. With Midheaven opposition Mercury and Neptune we already notice the importance of 'making up stories' for his career. The trine of Pluto adds suspense. Venus is 'calling' (in sign conjunct Quaoar = new worlds of fun) and in Libra to illustrate entertainment and style at any possible level. Moon and Venus are 75 degrees apart.  We also see Moon sesquisqemisquare Neptune. Minor aspects often have a lot of impact. The tightest aspect is Mars opposition Pholus and  trine Jupiter for a lot of drive to make a change.

Stephen King is a specialist in horror stories. I like to 'blame' the orientational Mars, Saturn and Pluto (rising before his sun)  for a focus on unnatural death.

Presently, the progressed Sun changed sign and right now transit Uranus is trine his progressed Sun (I guess for being in the news with his novel-to-be). That is better news than on June 19, 1999 when he was hit by a car and got badly injured. That was with transit Pholus square natal Mars and square progressed Pholus, while in the progressed chart Mars was conjunct Saturn. The midpoint of transit Mars and Pholus was square natal Mars.  Indeed, a nasty (Saturn) turning point (Pholus) that could have been a ' death end' (Mars-Saturn). The astrological question is: did transit Jupiter square his Ascendant and inconjunct his Sun save him or was Jupiter the symbol of the 'horse power' that hit him?

Anyway, transit Pholus is now sesquisquare his progressed AC/MC midpoint an that is a statement for a general turning point (and maybe just telling us that he will be moving to another place:).

The talent in the chart of Kylie Minogue

When Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer, transit Pluto was opposition Prg Mercury. It was a mind provoking experience...Also Transit Saturn was close to the Ascendant, resonating the nasty period following the diagnose, but as this is a B-rated chart, we should be carefull with the Ascendant and Midheaven...

TALENT
She survived and that is why we can still enjoy her music. The talent is illustrated by the opposition of Venus and Neptune, with Moon quatronovile (160d) Neptune. Venus trine Uranus adds sense of rhythm. The Sun is calling (no aspects within 5 degrees) and that is a statement for a star (someone drawing attention). The Moon, Venus and Neptune connection is typical in the charts of talented people. That is what this blog is about...:)

Chart of Phil Collins (now that he stops)

Phil Collins definitely stops playing the music. See Anglophenia about it...He said that the music won't miss him. Phil Collins attributed a lot to pop music and had many fans, however.
Pluto is often involved in 'come backs'. In 2010, Phil Collins released the album named 'Going back' (...). The inconjunction is the symbol of loosing balance, losts and giving up. I read that his I think that the transit of Pluto inconjunct his Midheaven 'helps' to devaluate his own achievements and is illustrating the difficult position and (physical) conditions. Before that (in 2010) I mentioned:
I see Progressed Midheaven inconjunct Mars (for loss of muscle/energy or having to give up working). Progressed Ascendant is inconjunct Venus, Progressed Venus square Midheaven, Transit Neptune sextile progressed Mars.  Except for the last mentioned transit the indications are only valid for an AA-rated chart. There is one big indication for a sudden change: progressed Sun is square Uranus.  And if the B-rated chart is correct, this sudden change went along with a difficult inconjunction of Mars. Mars happens to be important for someone who is hitting drums. That is because Mars is the symbol of striking, hitting and using tools.

Now there is also transit Saturn square natal Mercury. Saturn square Mercury has never been the symbol of the optimistic idea (sometimes even 'doom thinking') and often accompanies a hard decission, like a farewell (saying = Mercury and stop, quit, goodbye = Saturn). Saturn-Mercury is also the combination of the writer's block.

ARTIST
This blog is about the pattern of artistic talent in the chart. Here is the pattern of Phil Collins:

1. The Sun and Venus are 'calling' in his natal chart
That means 'drawing attention' (performing) at any possible level.
And it means 'style, entertainment' at any possible level, too.

2. Moon is rising before the Sun.
That gives an important place to emotions.

3. The Moon is trine Venus, out of sign. I wonder if that (the not matching signs of Moon and Venus) makes him feel like 'not being part of the world or artists', even though there is a sense of beauty and what people like.

4. Midheaven is quintile Neptune, square the Moon and quatronovile (160d) Venus: his profession is connected to the trio of art (Moon, Venus and Neptune).

Movie about an astrologer (Nicholas Culpeper)...

A movie is art and Nicholas Culpeper was a herbalist and an astrologer. This blog is about art and astrology. That is why I pay attention to Tony White's project to make a movie about the life and works of Nicholas Culpeper. He does need  some support to get started.

Tony White is an award-winning animator. He launched a Kickstarter page to invite individuals to help him get it going with donations. US tax payers will be able to make tax-deductable donations (throught the registered Animaticus Foundation). You can see more about the idea and the contents and/or back the project. You find all information on:

If you want to know more about Culpeper's chart, go to Astropost.

UPDATE: the project has been removed from Kickstarter. A pity!
