Chart of Edie Sedgwick

On special request I had a look at the chart of the late actrice (in movies of Warhol) and model Edie Sedgwick. By intuition I selected the optional Pallas on Astro.com and see: Pallas is elevated in the chart. Whenever patterns (such as role models) are of importance to someone, Pallas is important in the chart.

Edie Sedgwick's chart has Midheaven trine Moon, square Venus and 157.5 (sesquisquare + half semi square) Neptune. Moon, Venus and Neptune are not connected by aspects between them. This means that the career of Edie Sedgewick had artistic aspects.

Another pattern in the chart of Edie Sedgwick is that of the beautiful woman: Venus conjunct Saturn and sextile Pluto (the pattern that says: 'If you want to be beautiful, you must suffer'). Read about that on Astropost (Charts of beautiful women). She suffered from anorexia and ended her life at age 26.

Chart of Van Morrison

The positions in the chart of Van Morrison clearly show the pattern of the professional artistic talent (composed by minor or major aspects of Moon, Venus and Neptune and the signs of their rulership with Midheaven). Let's see:
Chart, progressions and transits of today, Dec 18, 2011
There is the Midheaven in Pisces (sign ruled by Neptune) exactly trine Moon in Cancer (ruled by Moon) and inconjunct Venus in Leo. That would already be a statement, but there is more. Neptune, ruler of Midheaven, is in aspect with Venus (sextile) and Moon (square). Ruler MC Neptune is in Libra and in the fifth house of entertainment. It is a more than complete pattern.

There is more to see in this chart. For example, the position of the Moon in the 12th house for the need for privacy.Right now tabloids report about the loss of a lover and their child this year.

Van Morrison is famous for 'Brown Eyed Girl'. The latest album release was in 2009.

Chart of Brigitte Bardot

On Astrology&Love there is a post about Brigitte Bardot. Subject is the synastry with Roger Vadim. About the artist in the chart...There is the pattern of Venus, Moon and Neptune with Midheaven (angular Moon square Neptune and in aspect with Midheaven, just like Venus). There is also Sun and MC in Libra. But there is much more to consider (just follow the link above).

Here is the chart (positions in green are Roger Vadim's natal chart positions):

Chart of Meredith Baxter's coming out

Natal and Progressions for December 2, 2009
Meredith Baxter is on Oprah tonight. Good moment to have a look at the actress in the chart. It is a chart with the Sun in the last degree of Gemini, not making any (major) aspect. That is the symbol of someone drawing attention, like leaders, performers and stars. The Leo Moon seems to confirm this. There is also the pattern of professional artistic talents: a small trine between Moon, Venus and Neptune in Libra, with the Moon square and Neptune semi square Midheaven. That pattern is similar to the patterns of other artists on this blog. The important positions for Jupiter (square Ascendant) and Pluto (conjunct Ascendant) helped her to impress the persons that she met. (See: http://astropost.blogspot.com/2011/05/jupiterpluto-midpoint-and-aspect.html
And I think that is enough for now...

She divorced a few times, had five children, had too much alcohol for a while and had her coming out on December 2, 2009. Here you see the natal chart and the progressed chart for that day. I mention seven of them:
  • T Quaoar inconjunct Sun/Moon is offering a new way of living, but with a lost
  • Transit Jupiter square Progressed AC/MC offers help and support
  • Progressed Moon sextile Progressed Pholus means a way out to turn emotional tides
  • Progressed Mars on Progressed AC/MC is stimulating
  • Progressed Pluto closer to the natal Ascendant (transforming situation)
  • Progressed Ceres on Progressed Midheaven and square natal Moon
  • Progressed Mercury square natal Mars (discussions)

LINKS
There is a resemblance with the chart of Ricky Martin's coming out:
1. The same amount of 'easy' aspects (sextiles and trines, making it hard to come out sooner) and the transits and
2. the kind of progressions for the day of the 'coming out'  (aspects with Pluto, Quaoar and Pholus)

The talent in the chart of Alexis Jordan

Alexis Jordan ('Happiness') was born on April 7, 1992 in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. She has a natal chart with Venus quintile Uranus and Venus quintile Neptune, stating:  creating hypes in entertainment. 'Happiness' may not be a classic song, but your brains keep singing it:)!

The most prominent planet in het chart is the symbol of beauty and style: Venus. Venus is 'calling' and at Aries Point (I mean that there are no major aspect in 5 degrees and in sign and that highlight style.  If she was born within 2 hours around midday, the Moon would make a Golden Yod with Venus and Uranus. That would be the perfect pattern of artistic talent, with a focus on Venus. Angular position could attribute to the complete picture, if only we knew her hour of birth (any suggestions?). What we know is that she looks as good as a we may expect from a 'calling' Venus! And that she is a 'hit' in many countries now.

Here are the positions on her day of birth:

I read that Alexis Jordan is also an actress. See Sun square Neptune (the concept of realising dreams, being an idol and double lives, like the ones that actors live:)

Justin Bieber's chart

Watch Justin Bieber's chart on Astropost: Neptune and wax figures and see the pattern of artistic talents in his chart.

The pattern of artistic talent is a mix of aspects between Moon, Venus, Neptune and Midheaven and placements in the signs ruled by Moon, Venus and Neptune (Cancer, Taurus, Libra and Pisces). In Justin Bieber's chart we see:

  • Moon in Libra
  • Venus in Pisces
  • Moon is square Neptune
  • Venus is sextile Neptune
  • Venus is opposition Midheaven
and that is a complete pattern.

Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh: Neptune in Pisces

On this blog you see many astrogical patterns of artistic talent. These patterns are created by aspects between Moon, Venus and Neptune, the signs that they rule (Cancer, Libra, Taurus and Pisces) and Midheaven (for the professional). Now that Neptune is in Pisces it is time to have a look at the chart of two famous painter with a prominent Neptune in Pisces in the natal chart: Paul Gauguin and Vincent van Gogh.

PAUL GAUGUIN

Above is the chart of Paul Gauguin and here is the artistic pattern in his chart: Moon opposition Neptune in Pisces and both square Venus, ruler of the Taurus Midheaven and elevated. The Moon is semisesquisquare Midheaven and Neptune 75 degrees MC. The midpoint Moon/Venus is in hard aspect with Neptune. And I like to point at the prominent positions of the three players in the artistic pattern: Moon on the Ascendant, Neptune on the Descendant and Venus elevated! This chart is screaming that an artist was born. The chart doesn't speak of long life or steady marriages, however. Gauguin left his wife and children (Moon opposition Neptune and Venus square Neptune are part of the pattern of the artist AND part of the pattern of the divorced man).

Did you know that he lived with Vincent van Gogh for a while? Gauguin's Jupiter was exactly conjunct the Ascendant of Van Gogh and that is a supporting aspect. In the end, the mental state of Van Gogh was too much for Gauguin, however. BTW, Van Gogh also has Neptune in Pisces! Here is his chart:
Natal chart Van Gogh
The Moon (disposing of the Cancer Ascendant) is exactly square the midpoint Venus/Neptune and square Midheaven in Pisces. The Moon is also inconjunct the Ascendant and that describes the unbalanced emotions. It is a different kind of pattern and a completely different chart. The Sun is not making major aspects and that is telling us that Vincent van Gogh knew how to draw attention at any possible level, like a modern 'star'.

I wonder in what way Neptune in Pisces attributed to the style of both Gauguin and Van Gogh. They were contemporary painters and friends for a while, that is what I know.

Chart of Meat Loaf

Meat Loaf is news again, see:

That is with the next transits and progressions:

Transit Neptune in the very last minutes of Aquarius, opposition progressed Mars and
Transit Neptune sextile progressed Venus and
Transit Neptune quindecile progressed Pluto...
Transit Chiron inconjunct natal Sun
Transit Nessus, conjunct the Ascendant
 Transit Jupiter square AC/MC
Transit Mercury square natal Pholus

With transit Uranus about to be in opposition with his natal Sun and Mars almost in opposition already we might expect to see him in the news again more often in the next few months.

But how about the pattern of talent? It is there, in the natal chart:

Moon in Pisces is calling (emotions at any possible level)
Venus conjunct Neptune in Libra (sensitivity)
Moon square Midheaven is the tightest aspect. He started as an actor!
Venus sextile Midheaven
Neptune sextile Midheaven
There it is again: the combination of Moon, Venus and Neptune with each other and MC and the signs Pisces and Libra.

We all know Meat Loaf! Sun without major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees means that he is drawing attention at any possible level. Leaders and stars have such a sun! The elevated Jupiter square Midheaven goes for success. (The Sun semi square the orientational Saturn (rising before the Sun and on Descendant) might explain some of the difficulties in his life and career, such as with his father - an alcoholic-).

Chart of Doris Day

Doris Day was very popular. You can see that in her chart for April 3, 1922. The tightest major aspects are:

Sun opposition Jupiter
Sun trine Neptune (almost exact!)
Jupiter sextile Neptune

That is the combination of the devoted audience.  She was worshipped by her fans! But where is the actrice in the chart?

We see that the Moon is in tight aspect with Venus (sextile) and Neptune (semi square) and with Midheaven (conjunction). That is a complete pattern of talent. With Venus inconjunct Ascendant style, sympathy or beauty came her way. The Sun quintile Midheaven made her creative in drawing attention. And Mercury, opposition Ascendant and square Midheaven tells us that communications are of importance. And how about that elevated Moon in Gemini, square Ascendant, keeping her 'forever young' in the eyes of the public?

She was a singer and an actrice but she was also an activist for animal rights. And that is very Sun trine Neptune! See Astropost about Sun trine Neptune, dogs, rescues and Presley, for example.
BTW
Doris Day married a couple of times. Venus in Aries semi square Uranus and quintile Pluto tell us about exciting loves at first sight and impulsive relationships.

Birthday of Perez Hilton

With Mercury and Venus trine Neptune Perez Hilton makes an art of communications. It is his birthday today and here is the post about his chart. The chart is without hour of birth, but with a ' calling' Sun and Uranus. Mind if I name this composition 'a starry newsmaker'? With transit Uranus soon conjunct his natal Sun we might expect some news about him this year.

There are more people drawing attention, being a star or leader. Charlie Sheen for example, and Hillary Clinton. Just follow the label 'calling planet'...in:

Astropost: Astrology chart Perez Hilton

Chart of Stephen King and his new book

Stephen King is writing a novel about the murder of John F. Kennedy. Title: 11/22/63. Release: November 2011.

Stephen King's natal A-rated chart is here. With Midheaven opposition Mercury and Neptune we already notice the importance of 'making up stories' for his career. The trine of Pluto adds suspense. Venus is 'calling' (in sign conjunct Quaoar = new worlds of fun) and in Libra to illustrate entertainment and style at any possible level. Moon and Venus are 75 degrees apart.  We also see Moon sesquisqemisquare Neptune. Minor aspects often have a lot of impact. The tightest aspect is Mars opposition Pholus and  trine Jupiter for a lot of drive to make a change.

Stephen King is a specialist in horror stories. I like to 'blame' the orientational Mars, Saturn and Pluto (rising before his sun)  for a focus on unnatural death.

Presently, the progressed Sun changed sign and right now transit Uranus is trine his progressed Sun (I guess for being in the news with his novel-to-be). That is better news than on June 19, 1999 when he was hit by a car and got badly injured. That was with transit Pholus square natal Mars and square progressed Pholus, while in the progressed chart Mars was conjunct Saturn. The midpoint of transit Mars and Pholus was square natal Mars.  Indeed, a nasty (Saturn) turning point (Pholus) that could have been a ' death end' (Mars-Saturn). The astrological question is: did transit Jupiter square his Ascendant and inconjunct his Sun save him or was Jupiter the symbol of the 'horse power' that hit him?

Anyway, transit Pholus is now sesquisquare his progressed AC/MC midpoint an that is a statement for a general turning point (and maybe just telling us that he will be moving to another place:).

The talent in the chart of Kylie Minogue

When Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer, transit Pluto was opposition Prg Mercury. It was a mind provoking experience...Also Transit Saturn was close to the Ascendant, resonating the nasty period following the diagnose, but as this is a B-rated chart, we should be carefull with the Ascendant and Midheaven...

TALENT
She survived and that is why we can still enjoy her music. The talent is illustrated by the opposition of Venus and Neptune, with Moon quatronovile (160d) Neptune. Venus trine Uranus adds sense of rhythm. The Sun is calling (no aspects within 5 degrees) and that is a statement for a star (someone drawing attention). The Moon, Venus and Neptune connection is typical in the charts of talented people. That is what this blog is about...:)

Chart of Phil Collins (now that he stops)

Phil Collins definitely stops playing the music. See Anglophenia about it...He said that the music won't miss him. Phil Collins attributed a lot to pop music and had many fans, however.
Pluto is often involved in 'come backs'. In 2010, Phil Collins released the album named 'Going back' (...). The inconjunction is the symbol of loosing balance, losts and giving up. I read that his I think that the transit of Pluto inconjunct his Midheaven 'helps' to devaluate his own achievements and is illustrating the difficult position and (physical) conditions. Before that (in 2010) I mentioned:
I see Progressed Midheaven inconjunct Mars (for loss of muscle/energy or having to give up working). Progressed Ascendant is inconjunct Venus, Progressed Venus square Midheaven, Transit Neptune sextile progressed Mars.  Except for the last mentioned transit the indications are only valid for an AA-rated chart. There is one big indication for a sudden change: progressed Sun is square Uranus.  And if the B-rated chart is correct, this sudden change went along with a difficult inconjunction of Mars. Mars happens to be important for someone who is hitting drums. That is because Mars is the symbol of striking, hitting and using tools.

Now there is also transit Saturn square natal Mercury. Saturn square Mercury has never been the symbol of the optimistic idea (sometimes even 'doom thinking') and often accompanies a hard decission, like a farewell (saying = Mercury and stop, quit, goodbye = Saturn). Saturn-Mercury is also the combination of the writer's block.

ARTIST
This blog is about the pattern of artistic talent in the chart. Here is the pattern of Phil Collins:

1. The Sun and Venus are 'calling' in his natal chart
That means 'drawing attention' (performing) at any possible level.
And it means 'style, entertainment' at any possible level, too.

2. Moon is rising before the Sun.
That gives an important place to emotions.

3. The Moon is trine Venus, out of sign. I wonder if that (the not matching signs of Moon and Venus) makes him feel like 'not being part of the world or artists', even though there is a sense of beauty and what people like.

4. Midheaven is quintile Neptune, square the Moon and quatronovile (160d) Venus: his profession is connected to the trio of art (Moon, Venus and Neptune).

Movie about an astrologer (Nicholas Culpeper)...

A movie is art and Nicholas Culpeper was a herbalist and an astrologer. This blog is about art and astrology. That is why I pay attention to Tony White's project to make a movie about the life and works of Nicholas Culpeper. He does need  some support to get started.

Tony White is an award-winning animator. He launched a Kickstarter page to invite individuals to help him get it going with donations. US tax payers will be able to make tax-deductable donations (throught the registered Animaticus Foundation). You can see more about the idea and the contents and/or back the project. You find all information on:

Chart of Andy Warhol and the synastry with Valerie Solanas

Andy Warhol was a Leo with Leo Ascendant. But even if you don't believe in sun signs anymore, the chart shows that a star was born. You see it on the chart drawing: he was born when the Sun was rising. That means that the Sun is prominent (on the Ascendant). The Sun is a star, so : it is the sign of a star or a leader. He sure knew how to draw attention (another meaning of a prominent Sun) and how to be of influence. This influence was too strong for Valerie Solanas, the woman who shot him in 1968 after he lost her manuscript. This post is about the artist and the success in the chart of Andy Warhol and about the synastry with the woman who caused him a lot of pain.

SUCCESS
In his chart the Sun, Jupiter and Pluto (rising before Sun and Mercury) are prominent. Sun, Jupiter and Pluto are the combination of success.  Jupiter/Pluto is making hard aspects with the Moon, Mars and Neptune and that is a statement of triple success. Also AC/MC is semi square the elevated Jupiter: growth is inherent. Sun in aspect with Jupiter increases self confidence. Those are more than the necessary amount of ingredients for fame (one is not enough, three or more is a good start, more of those ingredients, more chance to be a success - if you are on the right place and time-).

The midpoint Sun/Moon is the midpoint of motivation. Sun/Moon is conjunct Mars and square Neptune.
We see that he is motivated by fantasies, visions, ideals, dreams or beliefs (Neptune) AND by action, drives and energies. We also see that Mars is exactly square Neptune (risk of use and abuse of drugs or medication or...working in the non profit field, producing art). With 'non profit' one can earn a lot of money!;) Jupiter/Pluto in aspect with Mars and Neptune resonate that success. It was very important to know the right persons (Pluto oriental) and money was, too (Venus semi quintile Pluto: a creative way to earn money). The fact that he dared and knew the right people and ... that he had confidence (Sun, Jupiter, Pluto and Sun square Jupiter on top) enabled him to be a star (prominent Sun).

TALENT
The pattern of artistic talent is there: Venus is conjunct Neptune, Moon is sesquisquare Neptune and Moon/Neptune is in hard aspect with Midheaven in Taurus.

It was very important to know the right persons (Pluto oriental) and money was, too (Venus semi quintile Pluto: a creative way to earn money). The fact that he dared to present his art and his confidence (Sun, Jupiter, Pluto and Sun square Jupiter on top) enabled him to become the famous artist that he was and still is.
natal, transits and progression for June 3, 1968

PHOLUS AND THE TURNING POINT
There is an important position for Pholus in the chart of Andy Warhol, the man who introduced pop arts.
Pholus is the symbol of the turning point (and shooting your own feet). Inconjunctions refer to lack of balance and losts.

In Warhol's chart Pholus is exactly trine Neptune (creating a turning point in arts), inconjunct Mars and Sun/Moon. And that is perhaps even more illustrating the kind life of Warhol who suffered after being shot (…) by a mentally ill woman (he lost her manuscript and she said that Warhol had to much influence on her...see Pluto's position) and who died in hospital. He was very afraid of hospitals (Pluto in the 12th house).

Here are the transits and progressions of the day of the shooting. They refer to a dramatic change, being lucky (he could have died), changing situation, frustrating new perspectives and more:

- progressed Sun is 165 d (quindecile) natal Uranus (obsessive change)
- transit Saturn is inconjunct progressed Sun (the dark sides of life)
- transit Jupiter is square natal Mars and sesquisquare Moon and conjunct Neptune and square natal Sun/Moon (good luck)
- progressed AC/MC semisquare natal Ascendant (changing circumstances)
- transit Quaoar sesquisquare progressed MC (whole new frustrating perspective)
- progressed Sun had been square Mars 6 months before: he was overly active/assertive in those days
- progressed Moon had been opposition Progressed Uranus a few weeks before: memorable incident
- Mercury was semi square Neptune in the progressed chart (misconceptions, misunderstandings)

VALERIE SOLANAS
The woman who shot him had transit Uranus sextile Pluto (easy way out to dramatic change) and transit Jupiter square progressed Mars (successful action) on the day that she shot Andy Warhol. Her natal Uranus was conjunct his natal Midheaven (meaning: she changed his perspectives and condition) and her Pholus sesquisquare his Mars (turning point in his energy level), with her Jupiter trine his Venus (supporting his style) and his Neptune inconjunct her Venus (maybe that is the resonation of the lost piece of art). Very interesting is that her Pholus is inconjunct his natal Sun (meeting her meant an unbalancing turning point for him…).

Here is his natal chart with the transits of her day of birth.
