Meryl Streep and Margaret Thatcher

Meryl Streep has the role of the main character in the movie about Thatcher and really: they managed to make her look like the former PM! For an obvious reason there is a relationship between the actor and the person that he/she is impersonating. And so it is in the case of Margaret Thatcher and Meryl Streep.

Meryl Streep and Margaret Thatcher both have an aspect between Sun and Jupiter (Meryl the inconjunction, Margaret the square). They also both have an aspect between Sun and Pluto (Thatcher has the square again, Meryl Streep has a semi square). The combination of Sun with Jupiter and Pluto increases self confidence and is one of the keys to success (or is it the result of it? One never knows…)

Of course, they are very different. Their charts are also different. But there is another similarity. Both ladies have Mars rising before the Sun and that is typical for ‘iron ladies’ (as Mars is the symbol of iron, male energy and drive). You might say that both are driven and successful or driven by (towards) successes.

Their synastry doesn’t show much of a ‘relationship’. The Sun in Libra (Thatcher) doesn’t match the Sun in Cancer (Streep and their Moons are in Leo (Thatcher) and Taurus. But the Mars of Margaret is trine the Mars of Meryl, so that they could be working together (and in fact, they have a relationship in the professional field).

One of the differences: Mars with Ascendant/MC midpoint of Thatcher and Mercury with Ascendant/MC midpoint of Streep (communicating is a crucial factor).

It is a one time role (Streep as Thatcher), unlike that of Romy Schneider, who became the living Sisi.  Romy Schneider ‘was’ Sisi in a range of movies. Her Midheaven is square the Moon of Sisi of Austria, thus linking her works – MC- to the personality of Sisi. Tragically, just like Elisabeth of Austria, Romy Schneider lost a child and never got over it. The chart of Meryl Streep today has a Jupiter-Uranus ‘arrangement’. That is mirroring the commotion (controversy, too) and the great success of her latest movie. (BTW, Cancer has a rather good horoscope for 2012!: http://www.astromarkt.net/2012-2013-horoscopes.html

In her natal chart we see the pattern of professional work using an artistic talent in the exact square of Venus in Cancer with Midheaven and Venus in aspect with the Taurus Moon and Neptune in Libra. Also notice the angular Pallas.

The chart of Margaret Thatcher has a prominent angular Saturn on the Ascendant and in Scorpio, trine Pluto ruler one, as a sort of a statement for the ‘die hard’. In the progressed chart Jupiter is almost conjunct Ascendant (changing sign to Aquarius). Transit Saturn is about to square the progressed Ascendant.

Chart of Edie Sedgwick

On special request I had a look at the chart of the late actrice (in movies of Warhol) and model Edie Sedgwick. By intuition I selected the optional Pallas on Astro.com and see: Pallas is elevated in the chart. Whenever patterns (such as role models) are of importance to someone, Pallas is important in the chart.

Edie Sedgwick's chart has Midheaven trine Moon, square Venus and 157.5 (sesquisquare + half semi square) Neptune. Moon, Venus and Neptune are not connected by aspects between them. This means that the career of Edie Sedgewick had artistic aspects.

Another pattern in the chart of Edie Sedgwick is that of the beautiful woman: Venus conjunct Saturn and sextile Pluto (the pattern that says: 'If you want to be beautiful, you must suffer'). Movie about an astrologer (Nicholas Culpeper)...

A movie is art and Nicholas Culpeper was a herbalist and an astrologer. This blog is about art and astrology. That is why I pay attention to Tony White's project to make a movie about the life and works of Nicholas Culpeper. He does need  some support to get started.

Tony White is an award-winning animator. He launched a Kickstarter page to invite individuals to help him get it going with donations. Sean Connery's birth chart

Sean Connery’s birth day is August 25. His chart is the chart of a cool and strong guy, a ' die hard'. Maybe it is not 'him' but his alter ego James Bond sure is! 

He was born on a day that Pluto was rising before the Sun conjunct Neptune. Pluto is the symbol of power, influence, force and strategy (or politics). Neptune is the symbol of fantasies, ideals, dreams and all other ' unreal' things in life, like movies. With Sun conjunct Neptune you tend to live a life connected to ideals, dreams or myths (or you are just a romantic dreamer:). Neptune is also the symbol of idols and heroes, especially when Neptune is connected to Jupiter: than there is a chance of having a devoted audience (fans, for example). His Jupiter is septile (51.4d) Neptune and Jupiter/Neptune is semi square Moon. Also watch the angular Saturn and Capricorn Ascendant for the cool guy. It seems that women like ' cool' and strong/couragious (Pluto) guys.  I like the  Sun/Moon conjunct Quaoar and the AC/MC square Quaoar: the most individual degrees of the chart show us that he was motivated by the crucial importance of creating new ‘ realities’ (very James Bond) or...that he recreated his complete personality. Connery IS Bond and all Bonds remind us of Connery. His first James Bond was Dr. No. The release date was Oktober 5, 1962.

Here is his chart (Astrodatabank’s data source is a quoted BC). The Midheaven is wide sextile Moon and semi sextile Venus and Venus is semi square Neptune. Venus/Neptune=Moon. And that is the pattern of artistic talent in this chart. However, there is another minor aspect with Midheaven: Neptune 75 MC. And that completes the Moon, Venus, Neptune and MC – combination of working with your (artistic) talents.

Leonardo di Caprio: first of all a producer?

Leonardo di Caprio said that he wasn’t a sweet little boy, but a fighter. We can see that. Mars in Scorpio is rising before his Sun! That is a statement for someone who is first of all an activist, entrepeneur, soldier,  fighter or ...productive (a producer). 

BTW he is fighting for the environment (MC in Cancer) as a producer.  And maybe that is exactly what he wants to. Here is the chart.

Robert Downey jr. is Sherlock Holmes in the movie. With Neptune opposition Moon in Taurus (on top) and in a creative biquintile with Venus, ruler of Midheaven, his chart holds the complete pattern of artistic talent that you see in all of the charts on this blog. And Venus trine AC makes him very charming, too:) Most attractive man have a strong Capricorn, Virgo or Saturn in their chart and so has he.

Jude Law (Dr. Watson in the movie) has Midheaven sextile Venus conjunct Neptune. The conjunction of Venus and Neptune is semi square Moon. Venus is conjunct the Ascendant for beauty. He is a Capricorn with Saturn opposition Ascendant. Venus (ruler of the Midheaven in Libra) and Neptune are on either side of the Ascendant.

Actor Nicholas Cage has the Moon in Libra. This means that he has sense of style. It is one of the positions involved in 'the astrological pattern of artistic talents' that is based upon the aspects or relations of Moon, Venus and Neptune with each other and with Midheaven (to have an artistic career), like in the chart of Nicholas Cage.

There are aspects between Moon, Venus and Neptune.The Moon and Venus are 112.5 degrees apart. The Moon is half semi square Neptune. Venus is square Neptune. Astrology chart Andy Warhol

Today various works of Andy Warhol has been stolen out of the house of a friend of his. Time to have a look at the pattern of artistic talents in the chart of the painter of pop art. Watch the Aquarius (modern) Midheaven conjunct the Moon (pop): he had a need to be different than the rest, to be 'new'. The Moon is also in Aquarius in the most used charts of the USA. Warhol's art is strongly based upon the American way of life.

Neptune is in aspect with the Moon. The biquintile aspect is reflecting a creative super sensitivity. That allowed him to see the world with different eyes and to see the art in a can of soup. Venus is square Neptune and that is the combination of artistic talents. It combines style and vision. Venus is 112.5 degrees from AC/MC, making style and beauty of crucial importance. So is the position of Pallas, square Ascendant. Pallas is the symbol of patterns and often placed at an angle or square AC in the charts of artists. Uranus is the planet of controversy and extravagance. Mercury is the planet of communications. These planet don't make major aspects, so that he could become a newsmaker at any level, in spite of being shy.
